Bringing art and community together in Eau Claire
This summer, join me for The Sunshadow Project, a series of free cyanotype workshops at Carya Village Commons in downtown Calgary. Residents of Eau Claire and surrounding communities are invited to create art prints using the sun, water, and their own special mementos. During our workshops, you'll get to share stories with your neighbours and reflect on the question "what makes a place feel like home?".
At the end of September, everyone's prints will be displayed in an art exhibition at Carya. All the prints will create a "mosaic" of the people that make up the community of Eau Claire and represent all the things they love. Interested in joining our art project?

What is cyanotype?
Cyanotype is a special kind of photography that uses UV rays from the sun to capture images. By placing various objects on cyanotype paper, you can create art with the shadows those objects make. After the paper is exposed to sunlight, it is washed in water, where it turns a beautiful deep blue colour wherever the light hits.
Cyanotype is an easy, quick, and fun way to for kids and adults alike to create a unique piece of art!
